Missing the Mark

Run, run, run.
My feet are moving like rockets.
Looking at my pedometer,
I haven’t moved.

Exhausted.
My muscles are aching.
How much have I lifted?
The bar is empty.

Stretching to the ceiling,
Ouch, I didn’t know that was there.
Am I touching the top line?
The mark is gone.

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
Winston Churchill

  1. I love it… I was pondering about a post that has a dart board and how often we throw compared to how many times it hits the bulls eye. This is great…great minds think alike.

if you fall seven times, get up eight times (~_~)

  2. Thank goodness the mark is gone! The top line should always be just above your capacity to reach it at any given moment. The reward is the journey, not the spot on the map! LOVED this post and will benefit from it for many days to come. Thanks!

  3. I THOUGHT SHE HAD REALLY MISSED THE MARK TODAY—HA!!!
BUT I SEE TWO PEOPLE WHO SAID THEY LIKED THIS—(‘-‘)

    JUST KIDDING—-(‘-‘)

  4. Oops, know that feeling! Sisyphus rebounds! Thanks. K.

    • Ha ha…. I love it…. I am embarrassed to say but I did not know what the heck “Sisyphus” was or meant till I googled it from this comment. You are so right and that was a terrific example of the point I was trying to get across!! Thank you for bringing my attention to that!!
