As the Blood Flowed
You went to a land, you did not understand.
Stranger you were, and hated so.
You had to fight, and you had to kill.
Some days you go unnoticed, still.
You lost your friends,
As the blood flowed.
Sacrifices you made,
Some will never know.
You came home,
Worn and scarred.
So we could be free,
And have our liberty.
God bless all our military men and women, past, present and future!
“The path we have chosen for the present is full of hazards, as all paths are. The cost of freedom is always high, but Americans have always paid it. And one path we shall never choose, and that is the path of surrender, or submission.”
John F. Kennedy
