Word Power

Have you ever thought about how powerful water is?

On my walk out to the mail box, it was sprinkling rain from the sky and all of the sudden the knee that I had ACL surgery on started to pain me. Somehow rain moisture affects joints. Rain can dampen your mood and flood areas to destruction. It can also make the vegetation grow, and leave the earth with a crispy, clean feeling. You can drown to death in water, or the sound of the surf can refresh your spirits.

I could go on and on with my examples of all of the powerful things water can do, but do you realize that the words you speak can be just as powerful in affecting others?

How often has a kind word spoken lifted your heart, or a mean word brought you to sadness? What about the words you allow to come forth from your lips, are they uplifting and positive? Do you spread good cheer?

“You have it easily in your power to increase the sum total of this world’s happiness now.
How? By giving a few words of sincere appreciation to someone who is lonely or discouraged.
Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today
but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime.”
